Weekly Dish Blog - Do You Have a Bucket List?

For those of you who don’t
know what a bucket list is, let me enlighten you. A bucket list is just
a list of things you would like to do during your lifetime. Some people
say that it is a list of things to do before you die, but let’s face
it sometimes you just need to do some things on the list before you are
too old to enjoy them.
I do have a list of things I would like to do, but now that I am a mom I
have found that my list just keeps getting longer. It is no longer just
things I want to do; now the list includes things that I would like to do
with my sons. For example, before I had kids, skydiving was on my list and
I went skydiving - check that off. But now, instead of just going on an
Alaskan cruise, I want to take my boys and go on the dog sledding excursion.
What kid wouldn’t like that? I also want to do a monster zip line,
go to Schlitterbahn, and whatever else might be fun to do with the kids.
It really is amazing how having kids changes everything - even the things
that are on my list.
Take some time this week and jot down some things you would like to do with
your kids, your spouse and a few things that are just for you. They don’t
all have to be extravagant. It could be something simple like taking a cooking
class or visiting a museum, but don’t be afraid to think big either!
(Like the trip to Australia my husband and I are going to take after we
pay for the boys’ college!)
